Rain rain go away come again another ..... no no I'm just kidding. Stay rain, stay.

New Zealand's summer begins December 1st and yesterday (a few days into summer) it was raining ALL day. It wasn't too cold though. But I must admit, I love it when it rains. Except when I'm wearing a pale top with heels on and running to a job interview. Not cool. Or if I have lots of books or papers in my bag and the bag ISN'T waterproof. OR, when it's windy AND raining at the same time because my umbrella just tends to blow inside out.

Do you like it when it rains?

Today there is no wind, it's hot and a little humid. Auckland weather is so random. Sometimes it is sunny with blue sky and it'll just rain, out of the blue, then get windy, then go sunny again, then start spitting, then sun, then no wind with blue skies and it goes humid. That doesn't happen often but I do remember it happening a few times. Oh, and I do remember a time when it was spitting, and windy AND humid. So my skirt was blowing up, I was really hot because I had a sweater and tights on (as it's windy and raining so you'd think it'd be cold), and my umbrella was about to blow inside out so I put it down. Sigh.

I wouldn't mind if my skirt blew up if I was wearing Marilyn Monroe's The Seven Year Itch dress and standing over a drain. That's the only time it can look sexy and well, classy. That probably isn't the right word but pretend it is.
I guess it can still look sexy if you aren't standing over a drain, but I think you need to stay in the same place or walk slowly don't run or walk fast.

I would love to kiss someone in the rain. How romantic.

I would've loved to dance and sing in the rain with Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly.

I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying. (Charles Chaplin)

  2. Rain, wind and humidity all at the same time is not fun at all, haha especially if you are wearing light coloured clothing like you said.
Beautiful pics, especially the ones with Audrey, I love Breakfast at Tiffany's. And Singin in the rain is also fantastic.

  5. Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious - Can you believe Debbie Reynolds was only 19 when she was in Singin in the rain? All the leads are such great dancers and singers. I just love '60s films.
